Project Life | Week Seven...

Hi there Sassy Friends! I am back this week to share my Project Life 2015 | Week Seven spread, February 16 - 22.

This week I am using the stunning new Simple Stories "I Am" collection and Crate Paper's "Craft Market". The two collections together work amazingly well along side of each other!

Week Seven started out casual enough in our household.  The normal routine was in place and kids were at school.  But then a major weather event decided to take centre place during this time and so life also began to reflect similar traits within my PL2015 pages.

Week day mornings now involve me going into the school to walk my youngest children to their classrooms. Previously they caught the bus, but with my youngest attending school for the first time, I like to see that he is settled before I walk away.  This opportunity has allowed me to capture some great everyday moments that I would never really know about otherwise. Their relationships with school friends are apparent and I am reliving all the hand clapping games they play, as they wait for the school bell to ring.

It was important to me, that I still document the everyday happenings.  My journaling is read very much like a diary.  I printed out my "Week in Review" directly onto white cardstock and mounted it onto a 4x6 card trimmed down from the Craft Market Stitching patterned paper.

The Simple Stories Horizontal Journaling Cards are also ideal to add that extra touch of text, even if it is simply the strips of journaling from the Simple Stories Elements patterned paper.

On page two, the second half of the week was consumed with Tropical Cyclone Marcia travelling along the Queensland coastline.  It was quite a newsworthy event for most people, as we rarely experience cyclonic weather  such as this in our region.

The ephemera pack from Crate Paper provided awesome journaling prompts. The radio image helps to share the story of my youngest son's concerns.  He heard on the news that when a cyclone hits the coast, you should shelter in the bathroom.

I shared this image of him on Instagram, noting his safety measures.  He had even provided the family with pillows and drinks of orange juice while we were to wait out the storm with him.

Me And My Big Ideas (MAMBI) have some wonderful chipboard stickers (currently available in the shop here) which I have used to highlight TC Marcia's track. The image was screen shot from a weather site/app on my phone.

And the dream catcher image from Simple Stories 3x4 Journaling Card paper reminds me of the cyclone itself and was included as a decorative filler card.

In the last pocket, I have included a collage of photos created in Photoshop Elements. These images were taken of our street and the flooding we experienced from Marcia.

Behind this photo I have also included a second image, an aerial shot taken of our local surrounds during this weather event. Sourcing information from weather channels can be very helpful with documenting PL, especially if you are unable to photograph the situations yourself.

Thanks for joining me today..x
